Andrew is an experienced commercial litigator specialising in disputes and investigations. His recent experience includes matters involving business crime, anti-bribery & corruption, directors' duties, asset recovery, joint venture disputes, property disputes to royal commissions and public inquiries. He acts regularly for both corporate and government clients. Clients value his calm, methodical approach and deep experience in what can often be fraught, fast-moving and sensitive situations.

Notable Work

Acting for the former CEO and CFO of Dick Smith Holdings Ltd in three sets of proceedings brought by the receivers and the groups of class action plaintiffs in the Supreme Court of NSW over the collapse of the iconic consumer electronics retailer.
Acted in proceedings brought against Infrastructure NSW by Crown Sydney Property Pty Ltd and Lendlease (Millers Point) Pty Ltd in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, a contractual dispute concerning sight lines across Central Barangaroo in Sydney and the operation of express good faith obligations.
Represented Woolworths in various Supreme Court and Federal Court litigation matters. This has included providing dispute resolution support during the sale of subsidiary companies, disputes with the ACCC, disputes involving fires which have destroyed premises, fraud cases as well as large and complex fidelity claims.
Part of the core team that represented CBA, Australia's largest bank, in the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry.
Represented Corrective Services NSW in the Special Commission Inquiry into offending by former corrections officer Wayne Astill at Dillwynia Women's Correctional Centre.
Represented Optus in a major joint venture dispute with another telecommunications company in the Supreme Court of NSW. Andrew continues to advise Optus on the joint venture agreements, including the 5G rollout.
Represented a well-known international organisation in connection with the Australian Securities and Investment Commission's investigations into the conduct of an Australian publicly listed company in the Middle East.
Acted for ORIX Australia Corporation Limited against its former CEO and General Manager of Fleet in the Supreme Court of NSW and the Federal Court of Australia.
Acted in various fraud matters in the Federal Court of Australia and Supreme Court of New South Wales involving inventory theft, payroll fraud and secret commissions from suppliers, including the obtaining of Freezing Orders and Asset Preservation Orders.
Represented AMP Life Ltd and AMP Capital Investors Ltd in an interlocutory application to restrain the completion of the sale of Stanbroke Pastoral Company Ltd, then the world's largest cattle company.
